We make Arb Astra, one of the five products below, so read this knowing that. Every price comes from each company's own pricing page, checked on 27 October 2026, and each product is listed for the job it does best, including the ones where Arb Astra is not the answer.

What to look for

These are the questions that separate tree service software from general field service tools, and the ones worth asking in every demo:

  • Is it built for tree work: per-tree records, plant health care logs and risk assessments, not just jobs and invoices?
  • How long does a quote take in the driveway, and does it work with no signal?
  • Do crews get a phone app that works offline, and do they clock in from it?
  • Can customers sign quotes and pay online, and does it sync with your accounting?
  • Do leads from your website and ads land in it, with where they came from?
  • Is the price published, is there a free trial, and what does a contract commit you to?
  • Who moves your data over, and is training included?

1. ArboStar: best all-in-one platform for established tree companies

ArboStar is built for tree care and covers CRM, scheduling, an offline crew app, invoicing and payments, with QuickBooks sync in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Every plan includes free data migration, full setup and live training. Starter is US$149 a month (1 office licence, 1 crew login) and Growing US$249 (2 office, 3 crew) on annual billing; C$199 and C$339 in Canada. Monthly billing costs more, Enterprise is quoted, and there is a demo and a 30-day money-back guarantee rather than a free trial.

2. Jobber: best for small crews who want the lowest entry price

Jobber is general home-service software that many small tree companies use. It is not built for tree work (no tree inventory or risk records), but it is polished and well supported. Plans run from Core at $49 a month (one user, $21 a month on annual billing) to Plus at $699 a month for 15 users, with extra users at $29 a month. It is the only one here with a self-serve trial of a paid plan: 14 days of Grow, no card required.

3. Arborgold: best for larger operations that want job costing and inventory in the top tiers

Arborgold is built for tree and landscape companies. Starter is $129 a month, Professional $299 and Enterprise $499 (with higher figures also shown), and job costing, material inventory and chemical tracking start at Professional; plant and tree inventory mapping is in Enterprise. Its pricing page says an annual contract is required and cancelling needs at least 60 days' notice.

4. SingleOps: best for companies with big crews, since crew users are free

SingleOps, now part of Granum, publishes Essential at $220, Plus at $385 and Premier at $550 a month on monthly billing ($200, $350 and $500 on annual). Extra office and sales users cost more, but crew users are free, which matters for a company with many people in the field. Integrated payments, email and texting are in every plan.

5. Arb Astra: best for fast quotes in the driveway and tracing ad leads to paid jobs

Arb Astra is built only for tree work, by a marketing agency for tree companies. Estimators speak the job and the quote fills itself in, signs on the customer's phone and works with no signal. Leads from website forms, forwarded emails and Facebook lead ads land in one pipeline with their source, and reports show cost per job by channel. It also keeps per-tree records, risk assessments and plant health care logs. Every feature is on every plan: C$249 to C$999 a month by team size, or C$2,390 to C$9,990 a year, with the first month free.

Where it is behind: there are no app-store apps (it installs from the browser), and online card payments, texting and an accounting sync are not switched on yet. If you need those today, one of the platforms above has them.
